Released 2026-08-31. This release brings filtering within reach: type in the file list and filtering starts, with no Ctrl+F first; Chinese names can be found by pinyin initials, so gz lands on 「工作」; and while the filter box is lit, the arrow keys pick files straight out of the results. A quick bar now runs across the top of the window, putting favorites and buttons such as Copy and Paste on one strip whose contents you decide. Views and sorting can be remembered per folder — Details for music, large icons for a photo library, each kept as you walk between them. UI scale changed to per screen, so unplugging an external monitor and dropping to the laptop panel now adapts on its own. Chinese file names sort as one block after English, matching File Explorer, and every small icon in the interface is drawn by tessoa itself. This release also fixes a crash on very wide windows, a multi-selection that skipped its first file, and two problems on the Recycle Bin page.

#	Kind	Change
1	New	Typing in the file list starts filtering, with no need to press Ctrl+F first (on by default). Keys already bound to a shortcut still run the shortcut — Space still checks items, so nothing stops working because of this; and once you rebind a bare key to an action, that key leaves "typing" on its own. It stands aside while Vim mode is on, or while the sidebar has focus. To turn it off, use Type to Filter in the Input group in Settings. See Working with files
2	New	While the filter box is lit, ↑ ↓ PageUp PageDown (and their Shift range-select forms) pick files straight out of the results, without handing focus back to the list first. Enter returns the keyboard to the list and keeps the filter text you typed; press it again to open the selected item. Esc still clears the filter and leaves. ← →, Home, End and Ctrl+A stay with the box itself — inside it they move the text caret and select the text, and taking them away would leave you unable to go back and edit what you just typed
3	New	Filtering and searching accept pinyin initials: with 「工作 / 生活 / 学习」 in a folder, typing gz leaves only 「工作」; 2026年工作总结.docx is found by gz too, and the two matching characters are highlighted. Both the footer filter box and the sidebar search accept them, and only in the default Fuzzy match mode — the wildcard and regular-expression modes still match literally against the pattern you wrote. 4	New	Quick bar: a favorites bar and a customisable toolbar merged into one strip across the top of the window, on by default. The factory buttons are Copy · Cut · Paste │ New Folder · Rename │ Undo · Refresh │ Delete to Trash, and hovering one shows its name and current shortcut (greyed-out buttons included). The favorites half is a horizontal projection of the bookmark tree rather than a second store of favorites, always the same data as the sidebar's Bookmarks section. When the window is too narrow, favorites fold into the » at the right end first and tool buttons after. See Quick bar
5	New	Items on the quick bar can be dragged and right-clicked. Tool buttons are dragged into a new position (greyed-out ones too, and the position is remembered); a favorite on the bar can be dragged into a favorite folder beside it, onto a pane, which opens it in a new tab in that pane, or into the sidebar's Bookmarks section to rearrange it. Dragging a folder from the file list onto the strip bookmarks it. Right-clicking a tool button gives Remove from quick bar / Customize quick bar…, and right-clicking a favorite gives the same menu the sidebar does, so you can rename one with the sidebar collapsed. Favorites on the bar also take middle-click and Ctrl+click to open in a new tab
6	New	The Appearance group in Settings gained a Quick Bar page: Show as (Off / One row / Two rows), the two switches Show quick buttons and Show favorites, Button labels (Icon / Icon + text / Text), and below them two lists that add, remove and order the buttons on the bar — any action, any custom command, a Separator and a Spring can go on it, and Reset buttons restores the factory list. Right-clicking blank space on the bar goes straight to this page
7	New	Each folder can remember its own view and sorting: the View Configuration page in the View group in Settings, whose top row View Settings Belong To offers Current Folder. The default is still Current Tab, the old behaviour. With Current Folder chosen, the view you set in a folder (Details / Icons / Gallery / Columns, the zoom step, the icon arrangement) and its sorting (sort key, direction, folders first, grouping) are recorded under that folder and reapplied the next time you go there. Only folders you changed are recorded — walking through leaves nothing behind; switching to another option does not delete what is already recorded, and to clear it for real use Clear Folder View Memory on the same page. 8	New	New Folder became a rebindable action (Ctrl+Shift+N), which also lets it go on the quick bar. See Keyboard shortcuts
9	New	UI scale is now recorded per screen. Scale used to be one number for every monitor: turn it down on an external display, unplug it and move to the laptop panel, and the interface kept that number — small and thin, with no way to make it go back on its own. Each screen is now recorded separately: a screen you never adjusted always uses its own system scale, so changing screens, unplugging an external monitor or moving to another machine adapts by itself, while a screen you did adjust keeps the value you gave it and never carries it to another screen. To hand a screen back to the system, click Reset to screen default below UI Scale in the General group in Settings — that row appears only on a screen you have adjusted, and affects only the screen you are on. 10	Improved	Chinese file names now sort as one block after English, matching File Explorer and Finder. Chinese characters used to be spread through the alphabet by pinyin, one position at a time — 阿里巴巴 flattened to a… and sat next to apple. The order is now segmented as digits → English → Chinese, with pinyin order kept inside the Chinese block. This changes the default sort, so the order of files in a folder will change after upgrading. There is no switch for it: the three major implementations agree, and the old interleaving was a comparison that had never been made. See View modes
11	Improved	Every small icon in the interface is now drawn by tessoa itself: the ← → ↑ ▾ in the nav bar, the × ＋ on tabs, the disclosure triangle and the check ✓ in the list, the sort arrow in the header, the magnifier and collapse button in the footer, the ⌄ › × ＋ ⋯ ↻ in the sidebar, the › ✓ in context menus, the ↑ ↓ × ▾ on settings pages, the playback ▶ ♪, and the whole row of quick bar buttons. They used to be Unicode symbols taken from the interface font — another font might not carry one, a few were drawn as colour emoji, and their weight and position never quite agreed. They now follow the font size, take their colour from the theme, grey out consistently, and draw under any font. Diagonal strokes are drawn as real lines, where they used to be wide-radius arcs that left × and the arrows looking slightly askew, and icon centres align to screen pixels, so at 125% scale one side is no longer crisp and the other blurred
12	Improved	In Details view, right-clicking a part of a row with no text on it opens the New / Paste / Sort by menu (on by default). The reason: when the list fills the window there is no blank space left to call that menu up from, which leaves New Folder and Paste with no entry point at all. Left-click behaviour on that area is unchanged — a single click still selects the row, a double-click still opens it, and holding and dragging still draws a selection box. To get the old reading back, where right-clicking the right half of a row acts on that row, turn off Right-Click Blank Areas Inside Rows for Folder Menu in the Input group in Settings
13	Improved	With the quick bar on, the top of the window takes 30 px more, the height of one tab bar; the menu and sidebar buttons in the top-left corner and the window controls in the top-right move onto the quick bar's row, and the tabs move down by one row. To do without the strip, set Show as to Off on the Quick Bar page in the Appearance group, or right-click the bar and use Customize quick bar… to get there

14	Fixed	A very wide window crashed the whole program, putting up an unrecoverable graphics error and exiting. The likeliest way in was not dragging a window very large but multiple monitors: drag an already sizeable window onto a screen with a higher scale factor and its pixel size grows by the ratio between the two (150% to 200% makes it 4/3 as wide), and crossing 8192 pixels crashed it. Windows can now be as large as the graphics card actually supports, 16384 pixels on most, and going beyond that stretches the picture instead of exiting
15	Fixed	The first file in a multi-selection did nothing: left-click one file, Ctrl+click a few more, then delete / copy / cut / open, and the first one — the one only left-clicked — was skipped. With two files selected it looked like only one was deleted. The context menu had the same fault: the "N items" in its title and the items it actually acted on were both short. Copy, cut, delete, open, open in a new tab and the tag menu now agree on the same set
16	Fixed	Delete permanently in the Recycle Bin removed only 1 item (since v0.22.0): select everything with Ctrl+A, right-click Delete Permanently, and only one was cleared — while the menu title and the confirmation both said "1 item", consistently wrong in both places, so nothing on screen looked off
17	Fixed	Delete / Shift+Delete / Ctrl+X on the Recycle Bin page opened a confirmation that did nothing: answer Permanently delete N items? and nothing was deleted, with no message either. Those keys no longer open a dialog on that page; to delete for real, use Delete Permanently or Empty Recycle Bin in the context menu. See Recycle Bin
18	Fixed	On settings pages, the small print under a subordinate row — an indented sub-option, such as the four media classes under Calculate Folder Sizes — was laid out too wide and ran into, or through, the switch on its right
19	Fixed	With the sidebar open, the part of the window's top edge the sidebar occupies, the top of the leftmost column, could not drag the window, and double-clicking it did not maximise. It now behaves like the rest of the top edge: hold to drag the window, double-click to maximise or restore
